What Is an Implant-Supported Bridge?

In this video, Dr. Matthew Keider explains the advantages of an implant-supported bridge, a fixed restoration that replaces multiple missing teeth with greater stability and functionality. Learn how this solution offers a natural feel compared to traditional dentures—schedule your free consultation today to determine if an implant-supported bridge is right for you.

An implant-supported bridge is a fixed dental restoration designed to replace multiple missing teeth. Unlike removable dentures, once it is placed, it remains securely in the mouth and cannot be taken out by the patient.

This type of restoration consists of crowns that are connected to one another, even though they appear as separate teeth. The bridge is supported by dental implants, which are surgically placed in the jawbone. These implants serve as stable anchors, and the bridge is either cemented or securely attached to the implant abutments that extend above the gumline.

Because it is a fixed solution, an implant-supported bridge provides a natural feel and function, allowing for improved chewing ability and stability compared to traditional dentures. If you are missing multiple teeth and looking for a long-term, secure replacement, I would be happy to discuss whether an implant-supported bridge is the right option for you.
